Cruising the US East Coast offers tremendous opportunities for cruisers. Copious material is available for those cruising the Intercoastal Waterway (ICW). If your boat’s draft or air draft is unsuitable for ICW cruising, or if you’d just like to experience cruising on the ocean, this course is for you. Why take the (outside) ocean route? It’s faster, more direct, allows 24/7 sailing or motoring, and has no restrictions for sandbars and bridges.
We’ll address appropriate seasons, routes, inlets, safe harbors, weather and strategies for coastal passagemaking on the US East Coast, from Florida/Bahamas to Maine. Whether you are taking short hops or long passages, this course will help you get you ready to “Go Outside!”
