Improve your close-quarters maneuvering skills and docking techniques for monohulls and catamarans, to take the stress out of docking!
Captains Lisa & Andy Batchelor, authors of ASA’s Docking and Maneuvering Made Easy textbook will teach you how a boat’s individual characteristics affect its maneuverability under power, and how you can best use those features to your advantage. You’ll learn why wind and current affect your boat in different ways. Learn to assess the local conditions, then formulate and communicate a plan of action to your crew. Master the use of spring (warping) lines and transits to counter the effects of wind and current, and how to create time and space.
We’ll explore a number of techniques to overcome the most common docking challenges, including single-handed docking. This seminar addresses single and twin-rudder monohulls, tiller and outboard monohulls, and twin-screw catamarans.
