Offshore Route Planning

This course provides a methodology and hands-on practice with offshore route planning, applicable to short or long ocean passages.  We’ll blend climatology, basic navigation and marine weather resources to plan an offshore route from Norfolk VA to the Abacos, Bahamas.  You’ll use a planning chart, navigation tools, and archived weather & ocean current data from multiple sources to help you plan and make informed decisions about timing and route shaping for a safe, enjoyable passage.
