This hands-on, full-day workshop is designed for sailors eager to enhance their seamanship skills through the art of splicing. Participants will delve into the characteristics and applications of various rope types, including 3-strand rope ideal for dock and anchor lines, double braid line commonly used for halyards and sheets, and high-performance fibers like Dyneema/Spectra suitable for soft shackles, continuous loops, low-stretch halyards, and even emergency standing rigging repairs.​ You’ll learn to select the appropriate line for specific onboard tasks and gain practical experience in executing essential splices. The course emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice, ensuring sailors leave with the confidence and skills to perform reliable splices, enhancing safety and efficiency on the water.​
