Paul and Sheryl Shard are award-winning television producers, sailing authors, instructors/consultants, boat builders and the fun-loving hosts of the Distant Shores sailing adventure TV series (broadcast on AWE in the USA) and Distant Shores YouTube Channel. They are affectionately known as “the O.G.s” of sailing lifestyle videos since they started documenting their cruising adventures for television long before YouTube existed. They have been sailing internationally for nearly 40 years having done over 170,000 nm in that time, including 12 ocean crossings. Through their sailing videos, magazine articles, books, cruising seminars and coaching programs the Shards help others plan safe and comfortable long-distance voyages to exotic ports around the world. They are currently sailing their 5th boat, a custom aluminum Enksail Orion 49 built in the Netherlands, on which they have made 4 transatlantic crossings in the last 2 years.
