Master Diesel Spring 2026
Diesel Maintenance & Advanced Diagnostics Class – 3 Days
April 22nd- April 24th, 2026
The 3 day class will be held prior to the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show. Admission is included to the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show, Friday, April 24th – Sunday, April 26th.
This three-day, hands-on class will provide a preliminary and in-depth review of how a diesel engine works. All aspects of general and yearly maintenance will be covered, to include:
- Oil changing
- Impeller replacement
- Cooling system service
- Fuel filter replacement and general fuel system servicing
- Basic transmission service
- Trouble shooting electrical systems
- Motor mounts and shaft alignment
Various engine parts, tools, and running engine models of Yanmar 1GM10, Yanmar 4JH Series and Universal M-25XP will be available to demonstrate parts and procedures.
Day two of Diesel Engine Maintenance will include topics such as:
- Valve adjustment
- Compression testing
- Cooler/heat exchanger repairs
Day three will focus on Advanced Diesel Diagnostics. Many students who completed the Diesel Maintenance Master Class in the past, have requested a continuation of the course with Jim Zima to go into more detail for troubleshooting engine issues. Well, this class is for you! Jim Zima will use the knowledge he has taught in the Master Class and will work with each student on trying to determine where the malfunction is occurring with the engine
The tuition purchase for the Master Diesel Maintenance & Advanced Diagnostics class includes: coffee breaks and lunch for all 3 days of class as well as a multi-day ticket for the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show.
Cost: $1,195/student
Multi-day admission to the Bay Bridge Boat Show at Safe Harbor & the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show is included with your Master Diesel Maintenance registration, as well as coffee breaks and lunch during the 3 days of class. The class will be held at The Fleet Reserve Club, 100 Compromise Street, Annapolis, MD 21401.
